Story
As the 59th film of actor ;Ilayathalabathi’Vijay has been launched with a Pooja today here we come up with a few interesting details about this second venture of young filmmaker Atlee.
Apart from Vijay, Amy Jackson and Samantha the film has a strong supporting cast that includes Prabhu and Radhika. Prabhu is also acting in Vijay starrer ‘Puli’ and this will be the straight second film for the veteran actor with Vijay.
Actress Meena’s daughter is making her silver screen debut as a child artist in this film and reportedly plays the daughter of Vijay in the film. It is to be noted that actress Meena debuted in films as daughter of superstar Rajinikanth and eventually became a leading heroine. Now her daughter is making her debut with another superstar!
But the surprise factor in Vijay 59 will be the on screen debut of veteran director Mahendran who will be essaying an important character in this flick.
In the inaugural pooja of the film Vijay surprised everyone by appearing in a dhoti and blue shirt.
Speaking to reporters Atlee said "I am a fan of Vijay and it is my dream to direct a film with him. Thoug I worked with him during ‘Nanban’ as director Shankar assistant I decided not to approach him as a director before giving a hit film. So I met him only after the success of ‘Raja Rani’. He okayed my script and said I could have approached him for my first film. "
Atlee also said that the story of the film has been written by him and this is not a remake. He also assured that the role played by Vijay in this film will be liked by everyone as in MGR films. The shooting of the film is set to begin soon and go on till December.
This is the 50th film for which G.V.Prakash Kumar is composing music. Atlee said that the young composer has already given the tunes for all the songs in the film.
Kalaipuli S.Thani, the producer of the film assured that’Vijay 59’will be double times better than their earlier venture ‘Thuppakki’.
